Michele Gould is a performer and writer who recently graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Musical Theatre from Principal Academy of Dance. She has previously completed the Diploma of Musical Theatre from WAAPA and is currently based in Perth, Western Australia. She is passionate about diversity and representation and when she is not performing, creates new stories for Australian theatre. Michele has also completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science from the University of Western Australia and continues to be inspired by both science and the arts.


Michele grew up in Thailand, and has spent most of her life pursuing medicine. She moved to Australia in 2012 and completed her schooling at St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls, having been elected as Drama Captain in her senior year. Although having taken singing lessons at a young age and being actively involved in shows throughout high school, her passion for the arts only flourished after completing her biomedical degree in 2018.


Her first show after high school was Shrek, with Stray Cats theatre company, where she has a fond memory of playing the Ugly Duckling and creating her own costume for the show. She then went on to perform in the ensemble of Jesus Christ Superstar with Platinum Entertainment and played a gender-swapped George in Godspell. This was also the year she graduated from UWA and was accepted into the prestigious Musical Theatre diploma program at WAAPA.Upon completing her diploma Michele enrolled to study an advanced diploma in Musical Theatre at Principal Academy of Dance. There she refined her skills in voice, acting and dance and began working on her first musical: PASSING, to debut at Fringe World in 2021!


She is currently performing in We Will Rock You with Platinum Entertainment as her first professional engagement, having previously performed in Jesus Christ Superstar (2018) with the same company. She has also performed in the mid-year-musical and showcase productions at WAAPA as part of her Diploma of Musical Theatre (2019). Michele has also previously worked for the all-girls acapella group Mockingbirds for St Georges College (2017).


Michele’s other passions outside of performance include writing and creating music. In her free time she also loves gardening, spending time with her pets and playing dungeons and dragons with her housemates. She is also the co-owner of Carpe Coffee in Midland and has worked as a barista for the past five years of her life, proudly being a coffee fanatic and connoisseur!
