Amber Kitney is a performing artist and creative producer based in Perth, Western Australia with a keen interest in community engagement, diversity and mental health awareness. She produces theatre, arts events and workshops through her business APK Productions, founded in 2019. Amber is also a freelance performing artist with a Diploma in Musical Theatre. When she's not performing or producing, Amber enjoys teaching piano and vocals from her home studio and has recently started directing a vocal ensemble at Duncraig Senior High School. 


Her most performance recent performance credits include, Performer in Broadway Both Ways 3 (Entertaind, 2020/21),  Soprano for Team Harmonix in Acapocalypse (Playright Productions, 2019/ 2021), Actor in WA Youth Theatre Company’s 24Hour Play Generator Project (2019), Singer/Dancer in Children of the 80’s Immersive Dinner presented by Secret Suppers to rave reviews at Perth’s Fringe World 2020.


Amber began learning piano from the age of four and has been heavily involved in the arts since.  Amber graduated as Drama Prefect at St Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School in 2015 and later commenced a Bachelor of Arts (Arts Management) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where she developed a passion for producing live performance and workshops for young artists.


Upon the completion of her first year, she collaborated with performance artist Laura Strobech (VCA) to assist as Producer for the interactive performance art work collageN, for Perth’s Fringe World Festival 2018. OUTinPerth rated the show 4.5/5 stars. Amber then put her management studies on hold to further her performance skills.


In 2018, Amber completed her Diploma in Musical Theatre from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). During the course, Amber received intensive training in voice, acting and dance. There were also many opportunities to develop and perform original work, inspiring Amber to found APK Productions in 2019 to produce an original musical called Crookie! A Mystery Musical, which premiered at Subiaco Arts Centre in 2020 as part of Perth’s Fringe World. APK Productions is currently producing two musicals for Fringe World 2021’s Season; The Karaoke Club by Saskia Ware and PASSING: An Asian-Australian Musical by Michele Gould.


Her hobbies outside of performing arts include drawing and painting whatever she feels like and attempting yoga. In her down time, Amber loves spending time in nature, tending to her many houseplants and hanging out with her pets!
